Abstract
86 eyes of various types of glaucoma were operated by modified Scheie technique, in which excision of Tenon¢¥s capsule and resection of cauterized sclera were added, to the original technique. The results were as follows:
1. In 86 eyes, the intraocular pressure of 85 eyes were satisfactorily controlled but remaining one eye the pressure was controlled to high normal level.
2. The intraocular pressure of ten congenital glaucomatous eyes controlled within normal range by this technique.
3. In 86 operated eyes, 32 developed ypotony and one developed cataract in these hypotonic eyes.
4. The author believe that further observation is needed for the late infection following the excision of Tenon¢¥s capsule and the late complications due to hypotension.
